Catalan

Catalan is a Romance language spoken in Catalonia, the Valencian Country (excluding some inland regions), the Balearic Islands, Andorra, La Franja in Aragon, the Sardinian city of Alghero, Northern Catalonia and El Carche in Murcia, as well as in small communities all over the globe. The language is spoken by nine million people.

Currently, it extends over an area of about 68,730 km2, inhabited by 13,740,000 people in four countries: Andorra, Spain, France and Italy.
